I'll be speaking at a public meeting over zoom in a few days, I'd like to prerecord it and play for my spot.

I spoke a few months ago and was out of practice and nervous, and it showed.

Can someone tell me how to do this?

No experience with Zoom, but I can offer to you that practice makes perfect, and oratory confidence goes a long way.

My daughter says it’s hard to do, but it can be done. She says there is a recording option in the corner.

    Thanks-

Best idea I have at this point with my technological skills is to learn how to do a voice recording on my cell phone, and then play it by my computer during the meeting?

Best of luck with the zoom presentation. I prefer smashing my fingers in a car door to speaking, but still have to do it sometimes.
I was also thinking that you could add video or audio to a PowerPoint and use it on zoom.

YES, I have power point and know how to use it-getting on zoom is another deal.

And thanks fo rthe good luck, I'm not bad at all at public speaking but it's been a long time, and likely my spot will not come up till like 9 pm since many are signed up to speak, and I'll be tired by then too.

You can do a zoom with a friend ahead of time and record that then play it back on your real zoom meeting. You could do it several times on the first one until you get it right. I believe you have to have a paying account and not the free one for that to work though. Best of luck and anyway you end up doing it I am sure you will do well.

You could do that. Just obviously turn off the camera and just have the speaker unmuted.

Honestly though, by the time you get out done in one take and recorded, you'll have it down enough with the practice to do it real time

J, I'm under the impression I have to buy a zoom account to be able to start a zoom with a friend?

Thanks! I was decently practiced last time a few months ago, but I was listening online for over 2 hours by the time they called on me. I did not crash and burn but noticeably nervous by then (and it did not help I had to address a couple comments earlier like county people want city services for free - UMMMMM HELLOOOOOO, police and fire dept city tap water don't come out here) which did not help since it interrupted my practiced schpeel.

You can use a free account to zoom with a friend. I think he meant that to record and play it back in a session you might need a paid account.

Hi WW, thanks! Maybe I can try between my computer and kiddos chromebook tomorrow by myself? No, not written nor practiced yet but I want to see what my options are regarding recording, video etc. Yikes my plate is too full but I'd LOVE to be able to figure out if I could show some slides like mentioned above.

If you have a PowerPoint to present, you just have to share your desktop and then run the PowerPoint. It gets a bit of getting use to doing it as you seem to lose the gallery windows. I have PM you.

Relax WW. You've done it before and you believe in what you are doing so take a couple deep breaths and hit 'em. It should be no different than if you were talking to kiddo or Dino. don't forget to smile!

I've never used zoom, but I use Microsoft Teams all the time. I'm sure you can share your desktop to the group just like teams and that's how you project to the entire group, what's on your screen. It takes some getting used to though.
