Since we had a tree trunk soaking rain overnight and this morning, I was able to get rid of all the pine and branches I had brought over to the outside fireplace from the clearing I did for snow storage.

I did some trail clearing with the loppers and on the way back, I picked up a load of rounds, Ash and Maple. I'm hoping that with the Norway Maple, the rounds back in the area we call the sandpit and the rounds I brought back today, we'll have another face cord.

When Backwoods Savage was here, we went by the rounds and I said, lets stop and get them but the old potlicker said he was here for rest and food! :flipeggs::whistle:

Just taking a break for lunch now. I spent all morning behind a set of loppers also! :handshake:

I was wishing I'd have taken loppers on my walk this morning. But I also should have had the chain saw. Next time I go there I'll be on atv or golf cart so I can carry the saw with me.

I trimmed back everything hanging out over the trail on the ridge we use, I still have some trees in the trail that I'll replant once things cool off.

The ferns are starting to turn brown and we have more leaves falling so that cooler weather can't be that far away!

I put 2 cords of oak in the porch wood bins so I’m set for the coming season. Cut and split a bit but not much. I’m far enough ahead that I needed to attend to other things as a higher priority.
Not sure what those things were but summer is nearly over and I seem to have kept myself busy.

After taking the wife for a ride, I picked up the rest of the rounds on the ridge and brought them home to split and stack. After splitting and stacking three loads, I was soaked so I came inside in the a/c.

I still haven't touched what rounds are left back in the sandpit so I'll use those too finish this face cord which will give us 56 going into the fall before I start on more Ash.

Very high grass in the area I usually use, just haven't weedeated it and the water is pretty low but cold.

It looks like you're about to get hit with a good storm if the radar is correct.

I have room for 8 or 10 face cord and then my hardwood stacking areas will be full. Based on burning 12 face cord of hardwood a year, I would like 60 face stacked before the snow starts falling and that way we're 5 years ahead.

I plan on felling more Ash off the back hill this fall that should get me to my goal of 60 face cord.

I still have some Ironwood, Maple, Beech and Ash rounds left but not enough for a face cord so I'll go and get another load of Ironwood and stack everything, if it doesn't give me a full face cord, I'll cut some of the Maple and Beech tops that are left from my spring felling and stack those rounds.
