Started my Honda eu6500 today and ran it for 30 minutes. I’m ready but you get the hurricane.

    Good morning, folks

    Hurricane "Hank" day!

Just a few breezes, so far. Thev Severe Weather thread should be very active today.

We should fare OK. Best of luck to the CT crew. They seem to be more close to the eye. Also to the folks in the Berkshires and Catskills. Lots of rain forecasted.

The closest thing to a hurricane party, will be blueberry pancakes with real maple syrup, and breakfast sausage.

    Stay safe
    Stay healthy

Happy Sunday morning. Everyone stay safe with the storm. These things are no joke. Sad to say we will read about some that didn’t make it because of poor decisions. Just stay inside and hoard snacks.

Its 0545 and hasn't begun to blow yet.
Got up on the roof last night to tar up a potential leak. Was beautiful! Nice warm breeze, fresh air.
Checking a few las minute preps (the presence of ice in the freezer) and maybe a few extra logs on the wood pile covers.
We've never owned a home in a hurricane, never had wood stacks to secure ina hurricane. Have a shed to monitor....new roof on it etc. A day of firsts.

    Stay safe all!

Good morning everyone! Just a light drizzle so far. Henri is a slow mover, so we might get our heaviest rain Monday. 35-40 mph winds at most, which means white pine limbs come down. The estimated rain amounts are all over the place, this map puts us at 2-3 inches. I am right above his finger, at the state line. IMG_20210822_41120.jpg
So, not too dire a forecast for my area, but it will be very bad on the south-facing coast.
    Stay safe everyone!

Good morning everyone. Just dropped in to say hey. Been hoping all is well with FHC family.
Have done some praying for everyone. Have to confess though, sometimes I forget.
Been a blessed but very busy summer. Have managed to score some BL and silver maple.
Feels good to check in on you folks. Hopefully the storm won't amount to much.

None of you will be hit (Hard). It's coming in about 70mph. Yes, some flooding and hurricane gusts but nothing you haven't experienced before.:whistle: You'll be fine, the media over glamorizes these! We've lived through many of them down here and the Nor-Easters are worse because they last much longer. Looks like it's coming in right at the Thames river area over Block Island, maybe into Point Judith RI. It could move 50 miles each way...

Not much here. Im next to New Haven and a band of heavy rain earlier and barely a breeze. Light rain now. Made some extra ice for the freezers amd took down some light weight stuff from outside. Watching the weather channel and looks like the closer to Rhode Island the worse it'll be. Hoping id get some chain saw work from the storm, but kinda doubt it now.

A busy day at work and rainy day here. Seems there are a bunch of isolated heavy rain cells. Of course one is sitting over our house. Road is flooded. Nothing new. Township wont do anything with the horrible drainage along the road. Doesnt help we get water from 3 hills eventually coming down it.
    Stay safe (and dry) everyone.

    Thanks, that's Tigger, he's a loving kitty.
I guess Grandads are protectors too. Had to rescue Lucky this morning. It was raining pretty hard about 7 this morning, I went to the door to look out, I heard him meowing, I saw him trying to crawl towards the door, he was in the stream of water running down the hill. I threw on some clothes and grabbed him. Wrapped a towel around him, got the hair dryer on low, dried and warmed him up, got a warm towel from the clothes dryer, wrapped him again...
He has a box in the house, for now...
