There is a series on Discovery called Dino Hunters that focuses on ranchers looking and excavating fossils in the Montana and Wyoming badlands. Some of their finds are very valuable. Pretty sure they may have even discovered new sub species related to T-Rex. You may have a missing piece to a puzzle. Very cool find!

I sent an email to the head of paleontology at UW Madison with some pics.
They immediately sent back an auto email that he is on vacation

It's yours to do with as you please.

    Multiple sites state similar opinion.

I don't know if it can be confiscated, or if it would be. I just wouldn't put such a find in such a position of it being "donated for the benefit of society"

I took the dino fossil over to my neighbor Amish family to show the 10 kids. The dad wouldn’t let me take it out of the box.

Very cool piece! There are a lot of fossils around here (central PA), most of the ones we find though are shells/sea plants. I have quite a few fossils in the rock in my fireplace, some are really cool.....

Judging from the surrounding strata, this fossil is from the Jurassic Medial Macgyver period!

This Amish family has a business building and installing vinyl replacement windows. They just put in $9000 worth of windows in my sons house. My son called me said dad those guys stink but did good work.
