Im in that crowd too! I got too far behind and its nice to use in the hot weather. I still enjoy hand splitting though.
Haven’t been on for a couple months. You were thinking of hydro when I was on last. Looks like you pulled the trigger
Well its like this. I did a firewood making job back in the Spring and the guy let me use his hydro CHOP CHOP! was my thread After that i was sold. My friend where i store wood and myself were going halves on one. Good friend of his ended up buying him one couple months back and i ended up getting to use it. Split maybe seven cords with it so far. have another 2-3 and ill have caught up with what i have on hand. I dont like having a backlog (no pun intended) of rounds. Its been a miserable Summer for making firewood.
Thanks jeffI had been away from the forum for a bit before it happened, but sadly, I lost my mom unexpectedly on the Fourth of July. Quite a shock to all of us! We’re working through it, but between that and a scheduled vacation, that came at the perfect time, I did no firewood processing for a little over a month! Been out to the yard a few times in the last week or so, and it’s definitely been therapeutic. Good to be back
Very true! Normally, I hibernate from the firewood processing too, but dang those piles of rounds are big! I got some stacking to do but I need to update once I get it stacked
Split more rounds from March. Ash. I "grade" splits as im working. The nice ones (in the PU) are for wood bundles and the "lesser" quality ones for general cordage. The truck load was brought back home as i had an area to stack them open up. PITA but it is what it is.
