Yes, I'm a math teacher. It's hard to believe I'm going into my 34th year of teaching. Thanks for saying it's a noble profession. I've been blessed with great students for the most part, and for that I'm grateful. I'm still looking forward to retirement though. Then I can really concentrate on firewood hoarding!!
single (regular) cabs are hard to find around here still my favorite as practical as extra and club cabs can be
Regular cabs are hard to find around here as well. I was looking on the lot of a Chevy dealer around here recently. I was just curious about the prices. I'm not looking to buy or sell. There was not one regular cab on the lot, and they probably had over 30 new and used trucks. I also like an 8-foot bed. It holds more for one thing. And a lot of lumber is sold in 8-foot lengths and it sure is nice to load it in the truck bed and be able to close the tailgate and not have anything sticking out.
With the pics showing what you cook, I believe you’re a math teacher. JK, Spirit of Two Socks Great looking setup, Teach.
Just so you know it’s been my experience all good/great teachers say they have had great students. I don’t believe it’s coincidence.
Thank you Eric VW ! Those wood cookies do look pretty tasty, huh? I wasn't able to go to the GTG this year at Backwood Savages's place, but I remember you very well from the GTG the year before. I hope to make the next GTG. Take it easy and keep hoarding!
Yes, it is. Not as powerful as a diesel, but it's strong enough for my purposes. What I really like about this one-ton truck is that it is hard to overload it. The GVWR is 10,700 pounds. So I can pretty much load as much firewood as I want and still not be overweight. The only time that I overloaded it was when I hauled two cubic yards of topsoil back in May. The landscaping place has a scale and weighed me at 10,720 pounds. My old truck ( a 1988 Chevy Silverado 5.7 L with an 8-ft bed had a GVWR of 5600 pounds. I have attached a pic with a load of wood. It is really squatting and clearly overloaded.) So my current truck weighs more empty than the old truck did maxed out.
Nice racks and truck. Way too nice for me. I do agree with the 8' box and my lift adds close to another foot on the back. Can't find any pictures with it loaded, best I could do.
Thanks Stephiedoll. Nice pic. Your sideboards look about the same as mine. That is an awesome F250 truck you have! I noticed right away that you changed your avatar.
Thanks, I used Unistrut for my uprights as it is nice to hook straps to, boards are from an old deck. The F250 in my avatar is my dad's 75 with 78,000 miles on it. Just changed it again to show a JD 40 that my dad is gifting me.
