I deal with the Chicago issues every day. Not fun.

Yes driver shortages. Here's one article that is pretty better, but touches on the points that are pertinent. Trucking industry continues to face driver shortage - Radio Iowa

I haven't bought resins in a while, but I know all about material deviations and the added strain on the supply chain. Our engineering, and many other companies are inundated with deviations.

That’s how I always look at it. I’m not a seller type so I don’t have to worry about making back any money. Price comes down to how much I want it. Sure if there’s a better deal I’d take it but there usually isn’t for me. I’m an impulse buyer. If I decide I want one on Friday I want to pick it up Saturday :)

Yes EVERYTHING is related to politics however politics inevitably creates divides and honestly we have no place here at FHC for the bickering that goes with political discussion. We are here to help those in need of advice or even help locally from other members which I am proud to say our member base excels at. The lack of politics is primarily to keep peace and keep friends with each other. We have all seen what happens when politics gets involved from home life to online. I am not pointing ANY fingers only explaining.

I'm with the enablers in the group here. Everything OPE seems to be a bit pricey nowadays, and that is just the way it is.

If milling is something you want to do, and you have the equipment to make the work a little easier, I'd say go for it. You probably have your walkaway price, but to lose it over a few hundred dollars, you may regret it. I hope you can arrive at a price and both walk away happy.

I was thinking more on the lines of about 30 inches lower.

I will say, if wages kept up with inflation over the decades I've been working, minimum wage would likely be $20-23 / hr.

I think a "living wage" is good and appropriate, but at 52 and being with my employer for 18+ yrs, it doesn't do me a bit of good that someone stocking shelves at Wally-World makes just a couple bucks less per hour.

BTW.. not crying a sob story here, I've made choices that weren't always the best, but I'm happy overall.

In 2025 the mortgage will be paid off, the polebarn in 2023, clean up some residual credit card balances, and it'll be down to living expenses and NY State rent (property taxes).

Won't be retiring any time soon, but will always keep on truckin'

You don’t have much choice, you’re not allowed to discuss the Root Cause, suggesting a solution isn’t an option

You are.. Just not in the open forums here.

Let it go, and enjoy life.

You can banter politics nearly anywhere on the Internet. Al Gore gave ya that option.

Nah.. I answered it.. Horkn just did it using less words.

It was really a statement anyway.

We all know we don't have a choice, we have to take things as they are, not as we'd prefer them.

I actually was very political, but it wasn't conducive to a healthy blood pressure, so I try to keep my focus on the things I can manage.

Besides.. this is "Scotty's House".. and what he says is law.
