So i was using the Husky 261 this weekend a little.... Never even noticed that i lost both main muffler bolts . The front muffler cover bolts into the case... Which is why the muffler didnt hit the ground ! Tore it apart to clean it up tonight. Threads seem ok... And i torqued them down when i got the saw... So idk ! Do i use locktite ? Id kind of like to put the original bolts back in if anyone has them. Or maybe i should put in studs ? Thank for the help guys
I would agree with the loctite, if the threads in the jug are the least bit worn, you may find that the next time you pull the muffler if using the bolts that the threads come with the bolts. Studs unless you make them will be hard to find, to my knowledge there aren't any that interchange with the bolts from the 261/62.
Borrowed Dad's metal detector. Since the saw was used only in a a 30 ft radius... It didnt take me long to find em !!
I had to use my magnet on rollers the other day to find one of the bar nuts that came off a 2100 while testing. me and that saw just wasnt seeing eye to eye on things. But but golly I won.
My Dad has one of those too..which I was gonna use..but it is MIA !! The metal detector worked very well though...even found a beer can tab...and a chunk of aluminum foil LOL !!
I actually am looking forward to that quite a bit KRL !!! We will have to do some emailing . I wanna start gathering all parts needed !!
