Neighbor had a tree downed and wanted me to get some. I got a p/u bed worth. Tried splitting a 6" round with 8lb maul - round laughed. Oh boy, this may be some noodling. Thanks, Doug
x3 sycamore makes a good stump for splitting on maybe it splits a little easier when dried out a little, or really cold About the same BTU as red maple but I think I'd rather have the red maple as it splits easy.
Thanks, guys. Glad I mostly got 6" and under rounds. I don't need noodling wood. I'm working on winter 2023-24. How fast does a 6" round dry?
Sycamore. It wont hand split. It will but you wont wanna burn wood anymore by the time your done. Its one of my dont take woods. Noodle it all Doug or use hydro. View attachment 309498
