What's up today (bullchiting) thread.

Same here Dennis. 55 and dry. No plans for attic drywall today. I need a day away from that.

The plan is to start making a wood rack for our son to sell firepit and smoker wood out front.

I have an old wood chest to repurpose into a cupboard for the kitchen. If the weather holds, it will be done outside.

A holiday week end, so I am spending the day doing what I do best and enjoy most.

 

yes, a long weekend in BC as well. Seeing as the interior of BC is smoke filled and extreme fire hazard, everyone has decided to come to Vancouver Island. Ferries backed up and late, campgrounds are full, and people everywhere. So glad I live in Paradise.

 

Wore out the "doggo did it" routine, blame it on the forest fires now, huh?

And my daughter passed her driver test with a 97; she took it in a full size truck and lost 3 points on parallel parking!

 

Interesting day today. Our 15 y/o son wanted to try the radial arm saw and make something to sell. We took some old beadboard from the old chest project I'm working on and made a decorative birdhouse. He helped me make a pallet rolling base for the RAS first.

We had talked about selling firepit wood yesterday and he could keep the profits. We were going to start building the bin tomorrow.

A guy up the street stopped in and asked if I sold wood. I said the neighbor down the street sells cordwood. This guy just wanted some firepit wood and I sold a trash barrel full for $20. Son could not believe and the next thing you know, we started the bin. I had been outside all day and cleaned up around 4pm. We will hopefully finish it tomorrow. The nice weather got people out for sure.

Here is the birdhouse I helped him work on. There was a paint can ring on one board. It looks like a VW van advertisement was stuck, so he left it.




We also had a baby wren fledge from the birdhouse on the barn and came right over too us, landing on the RAS. It lost altitude quick. Dang cute though. I'm wiped, but it beats a day in the attic...

Followed by a big feed of fresh walleye filets fried in cast iron pans.......only the best, sure was a great day
