Yes, glands on all critters. Thanks for posting this. Ashley did a great job. I like her recipes also. Time to check the accuracy of the 22-250 and add some whistle pig to the menu.
Yep, three bags of double bubble placed in, on and around the holes...Gum gone and still have the varmints! Bought the Havahart trap 2 weeks ago, 1 racoon and 1 groundhog so far! Not real good about setting it out everyday though. This is about 1/2 a bag.
Well, lastnight I stuffed 4 flares underneath the pallet and the wood pile. I shoved them laterally in beyond my elbow, and hopefully shoved them in down the hole. They got s good covering of dirt, again well out of sight....kinda blindly shoving dirt toward what i thought was the down slope into their lair. It was cool to see CLOUDS of smoke filtering from under the wood pallets, with a little filtering up through the wood. I raked off all the dirt they'd moved, so if they dig more out, I'll see it right off. I didn't note another hole either, but even if there was, I'm hoping the smoke was enough to asphyxiate. Have plenty more flares should they persist. Failing that, moth balls will be next. I've never harvested those before, that'll be a first. I have a friend with a trap that I've used successfully before, so that is an option. Perhaps I'll invite the Loki to come and play for a few days!! With the neighbors and the previous issues, I'm looking to keep the really obvious pests at bay. That is non negotiable. No one seems to complain about the bunny population, and the chipmunk population has been reduced. Sca
Groundhog pot pie. Pretty tasty. We got a recipe when wife had her bridal shower. I asked BIL's mom for it.
Dawg does not. Not much of a fence either, so letting dawg out unsupervised shoots any real chance for stalking. Not much of a prey drive. Sca
That's where I found it. From you.. Btw, it worked for me. Only used a couple pieces and that was it for the whistle pig
Loki will spend days staring the holes waiting for one to come out. There's been more than once I couldn't find Loki and he wouldn't come when called. Started searching the yard and he is so far down a groundhog hole all I see is a bit of his tail.
Maybe Ohio dave would rent Loki for the weekend...you could pick him up after work Friday, then drop off Monday morning!
On my way to the job the morning and see this dead in the road. Thought of this thread and laughed. Was gonna stop on the way home to surprise Ms. buZZsaw and grill some rotisserie woodchuck. It was gone!
