I just had a dump load of stone dropped off (last pic) for a retaining wall I have (slowly) been working on since last year and decided to start this thread. I mean why not, right? Who doesn't like tractor porn? Need to show some love for the other orange tractor!

Had the CK27 for a little over 6 years before I upgraded to the DK4210 in 2019. Opted for the front-mounted snowblower with the new tractor but do miss having a backhoe.

Nice bear. Some day, maybe, if I live long enough, I'll shoot me one.
Every time I see em up close, they're outta season.:headbang:

Las year was a good year, our group was four for four. The season starts in 5 weeks so I'm hoping to load the freezer up again this year.

If you don't mind me asking, what does a setup like that run for the DK? (minus the snowblower, I'm in Louisiana haha)

I'll have to dig my paperwork out as I can't recall off the top of my head (lots of moving parts as I traded in my CK27 and a Polaris Ranger on the new tractor). I did see a 2020 DK4210 with cab and around 125 hours on it for sale recently (I think in PA) and they were asking 25k. No snowblower and I do not recall what other implements were with it.

    Nice tractor!

I've shot one bear during Maine's rifle deer season back when your big-game license covered both. I literally stepped on him. He was bedded in the root ball of a fallen tree that I had walked on in an effort to be stealthy. I looked through the holes/opening of the root ball between my feet and I saw black fur breathing up and down. I got off the tree and peaked around to see him staring at me. I shot him in the neck at a distance of less than 3' from the end of my rifle barrel. He weighed 204 dressed. He now has a place of honor on my wall.

    Nice tractor EODMSgt

Edit.. Big fan of the grapple on your upgrade

    Nice bears as well

I do like that the Kioti backhoe has its own seat. It gets tiresome swiveling the seat all the time on the Kubota.

But it still beats having no backhoe.

Thanks! The grapple was a great investment and probably sees more use than any other implement. However, I definitely miss the backhoe (I'd even settle for a swivel-seat!).

They stopped doing the dual bear/deer license? It was that way when I lived in Maine.

Yes, quite a while ago. You can buy a separate "bear tag" at an additional cost for use during the deer season. They claimed it was to better control the bear harvest, but I think it was just a revenue stream. I think that most people, especially locals, if they see a bear during deer season that they want to shoot, they do so and buy the tag after the fact. I've hunted Maine for 45 years. In that time, I have only seen one bear during the deer season. One of the camps up the road from where we hunt shot one a few years after I got mine, so two bears in 45 years doesn't really make it worth it for me to buy a tag. If I really wanted to shoot another one, I'd go up during the early season. Or I'd ask EOMDSgt. to go hunting with him.... ;)

Come on up some year, definitely lots of good bear hunting around here. This is my old man back in '71; he would fill his bear tag every year and actually had the state record one season.

I saw more bears than deer when I lived in Maine, and my former co-workers there pretty much echoed that sentiment. When I told those coworkers that you could legally get 3 deer or more a year in Wisconsin, and that I had regularly taken 2 a year, they were in awe.

I suppose it really is dependant on where you hunt, whether you see deer, bear or moose.

Same here. The black bear density in my area is an estimated .81 per square mile and supposedly there are an estimated 15 whitetail deer per square mile. (Unfortunately the people density is estimated at 37 per square mile). Despite those estimates, in my area I see many more bear than deer and bear are much easier to hunt than deer, which surprises a lot of people. If you got to the southern part of the state, deer are in abundance and much easier to hunt.
