I have multiple flat screen TVs but they were bought without the "smart TV" feature, so there is no netflix, youtube, etc programmed into them.

Question....Is there a convertor box of some sort available to allow me to watch those TVs (or to turn them into a smart tv)?

Sure would beat the alternative of buying 3-4 more TVs with the smart feature!

Years back we bought a new Samsung DVD player that came with some different features, Hulu,Amazon,Youtube,Netflix and some other chit. We had a Smart TV but I'm thinking it might work with yours, worth checking in to, it has Wi-Fi.

Yep Roku, Amazon Firestick, or Google Chromecast are all viable options. Just make sure the flat screen TV's you have on hand have HDMI ports which I am sure they do and one is available to use as Firestick and Chromecast both use HDMI ports. I think Roku can use HDMI and standard composite cables.

Roku box in the living room (I got that one 1/2 price because our son gave me an Amazon gift card for the other 1/2:thumbs:), and a 32" Roku flat screen in the bedroom, which we hardly use anymore.
I've done the laptop to TV thing too.....use a wireless mouse to control what you're doing right from your chair/couch/whatever.
We've done that with a DSL setup and only 3Mbs/second, but it would buffer some. With our newer setup (25Mbs), we have no real problem. Got rid of DTV about a month ago.
    Good luck.
Oh, our 47" in the LR was purchased in 2007, but has HDMI ports. I could buy 2-3 of those now for what I paid then. :emptywallet:

The Roku works, so does the onn tv brand ( google box) you can get at Walmart that they just started selling. I've had the $50 Roku for about 2 years and I like it. But, I bought the $30 onn tv 4k unit and I like that better for streaming. There's the less expensive onn tv Google streamer too.

$30, same google system. Nice remote too https://www.walmart.com/ip/onn-Android-TV-UHD-Streaming-Device/636597403

I have 2 Walmart tvs one is a 32" TCL Roku TV and the other is a like 48" ONN TV with RoKU. They both work. Our internet bis slow. Streaming stuff is great but also painful. You still have to watch commercials. I love my satellite tv for being able to tape and fast forward through my shows I have recorded on DVR.

There's different kinds of streaming. If you pay, and somr are pretty cheap, you can either have few, or no commercials. Some streaming services have DVRs, some are purely pick what you want to play when you want. Regardless though, you better have a decent internet speed.

My Amazon Firestick TV "updated" morning. Another learning curve and trouble shooting for me too.
