I think the heavy stuff stayed a few miles northwest of us, it's raining but nothing heavy and nothing for winds.
Southern NH has made up its rain deficit. This is currently the 8th rainiest July on record (records go back to 1871). Only need a little over 1/2" to jump to 3rd. Totals are taken in Concord. Supposed to be scattered storms all week, but not looking to be any severe. Unfortunately, the north country is still in moderate drought or abnormally dry conditions.
I was thinking that.. my grandfather, a farmer always said that.. some lightning and showers over night..
We had some good rains overnight, it looks like we get a break tomorrow and then it starts up again. We also had some good rains today when I was splitting, it didn't last long but I was soaked.
For this Friday night they're calling for 1.58 inches of rain, hopefully those totals drop. Cloudy and not as warm but humid; evening rain, heavy at times followed by a couple of showers late; watch for flooding Canadian border VT
No fog here today, we decided it was a nice day for a boat ride. Once we arrived at the boat launch, there was a man and his wife launching their sailboat. Once they had it off the trailer and in the water he parked his truck and started out in the sailboat. I was just getting ready to float our boat off the trailer when we heard we're taking on water and they were coming back in. I hooked the strap from the winch back to the boat and pulled ours up the ramp and to the parking lot so he could back his truck down. I helped them get the sailboat back on the trailer, water drained from the boat for a good 30 to 45 minutes. He had told me it was in a accident a few year back but it was fixed. Hopefully he took the mast down before he hit the road. He was caught up in the trees when he pulled out and was having a hell of a time so I jumped in his truck and backed up a few times and had him out of the treetops. He was about to break the mast before I jumped in, they have a house about 20 miles from here but also live in Massachusetts , those were the plates on the truck. I'm glad they didn't sink because where we put the boats in is very close to the power producing dam, chit, I'm just glad the didn't sink period! They were very nice people, hopefully they find out what is wrong with the sailboat before going out again.

We had some hard rains this morning while having coffee, tomorrow AccuWeather is calling for 1.37 inches of rain.
All that hoopla about storms yesterday and today. Fortunately we didn't get anything except a short shower late yesterday afternoon. Nothing today.
The tornado missed my niece's house by about 3 miles. Some of those exploded houses look like what we called "Apple Boxes" back in the day. Don't expect a stricter building code any time soon.
