Just concluded reading Prayer for those in need: 158 pages is a lot of history, saddness, loss....
Several journeys played out, prayers answered, journeys ended (the earthly.part anyway).

In 158 pages there has been a lot of healings, miracles....rejoicings.

But I wonder if we should not also rejoice, and share gratitudes with eachother. What would it be to come to His throne room rejoicing over the victories we share here. What if I entered his presence with gratitude for the victories in your life? after all, if there is victory in The Body, what if the rest of the Body can share in the glory? What if the rest of the body gave thanks for one person's win, victory, miracle....what would that look like in the Heavenly realms?

If anyone's game to try this, have at it.

    In all things give thanks.
And those thanks shall be given in the name of Jesus Christ, who said [verily] “None shall see (come to) the Father but by me.”
    Amen & amen.

    Attention to verse 8....

    Isaiah 6
    King James Version

6 In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple.

2 Above it stood the seraphims: each one had six wings; with twain he covered his face, and with twain he covered his feet, and with twain he did fly.

3 And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory.

4 And the posts of the door moved at the voice of him that cried, and the house was filled with smoke.

5 Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts.

6 Then flew one of the seraphims unto me, having a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with the tongs from off the altar:

7 And he laid it upon my mouth, and said, Lo, this hath touched thy lips; and thine iniquity is taken away, and thy sin purged.

8 Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.

9 And he said, Go, and tell this people, Hear ye indeed, but understand not; and see ye indeed, but perceive not.

10 Make the heart of this people fat, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and convert, and be healed.

11 Then said I, Lord, how long? And he answered, Until the cities be wasted without inhabitant, and the houses without man, and the land be utterly desolate,

12 And the Lord have removed men far away, and there be a great forsaking in the midst of the land.

13 But yet in it shall be a tenth, and it shall return, and shall be eaten: as a teil tree, and as an oak, whose substance is in them, when they cast their leaves: so the holy seed shall be the substance thereof.

So we are still rejoicing in having successfully gone from no wood and no wood stove, to having both. It was a lot of work, and except for FHC, we were going largely on instinct, dead reckoning and a dose of hopelessness (that showed up here in some of my posts).

There is a lot riding on getting this done, from money to comfort and perhaps survival.

I rejoice in the benefits and His hand to make it all come together....where much of it was out of my control. I rejoice with all here who enjoy the same.

God is good, this would not have been possible without His hand.

Greatful tonight for a new mentoree. Humbled to be a part of the life of someome with a future, whom is greater now than I or the missus was at the same age. Whose future is brighter than ours, and who will do greater things than we.
    ****
So mentoring has 3 general parts according to Promise keepers.....each of us needs a Paul: someone our senior who mentors us. A Barnabas: an equal, who holds the truth and calls us on it as needed, and a Silas or John Mark whom we pour into.
There are a handful of mentoring relationships, and this is a way simplified cut, but the above was my take away.

Backwoods Savage : I have a hunch that you are a Paul. There a stack of Silas's and John Marks out here, whos hearts need leadership and guidance. Who are struggling to be husbands, fathers, men of faith.

Woodwidow there are women out here who are struggling to be mothers, wives, women of faith....who need a Niaomi or a Deborah.

Calling you two out because you are critical to the success of the following generations. I think you know this, so this serves as a confirmation and encouragement.

    Bless you.

Thank you, but I am not so sure I could fill those shoes. After all, I am still struggling the loss of half of me. I also seem to have a lack of wisdom. However, I am still willing and able to learn from those who are wiser.

Like they say in the Big Brothers Big Sisters adds, you don't have to be perfect, just be there.

As a Silas, having had a couple mentors, I know this to be true.

As a Paul, again, there is tremendous blessing, and a lot of energy that comes from mentoring. Its kind of like a smile, or love....they don't do any good unless given away, but in doing so, we get back far more then we put in (God's economics here). When He is in charge of the blessings headed our way, He has an uncanny record of sending those right where we need them most.

You have been a real gift to many of us on this forum to start with.

Thank you for the mention. "Not I but Christ that lives in me" should be everyone's motto.

We have been looking at going into full time ministry with FamilyLife for a while now. We have been in and out of the process for various reasons but today they said yes to us and we said yes to them. We will have a training to attend in may and then it will be straight in to support raising. I am excited and nervous all at the same time but I am rejoicing in the fact that I can take part in this calling.

I am now officially on staff with Family Life. We have to raise our own support but that process is going ok. Check out our page and let me know what you think. I would love any feedback good or not so good.

    That is so awesome!!!
    Sharing that gratitude.

So a little something on this end:
Company monthly meetings (fire dept) have been Sundays 9am for a year or more. When I joined and was informed of, I allowed that I wouldn't make too many Sabbath meetings due to church and related activities.
    And left it at that.
Today, a month or two later...we got a note: company meeting day changed to Monday (a day we're all there anyway).
    I didn't ask for that.
Weird how that changed now after a year or two of Sunday meetings....

    Glory,

It amazes me how so few even know what sunday is for anymore. Seems many think there are 5 days of rest (no work) and 2 days of partying like a Rockstar.

Very true...my grandparents would not even conduct any business on a Sunday, including eating out, buying gas, etc...they tried to avoid anything that would cause anyone else to have to work...and certainly no partying  ;)

    Did you know?...
Some stove/ovens (and refrigerators) have a "Sabbath" mode.
