My hometown OPE dealer was only Stihl for many years for saw, trimmer, blower needs. They sell a few different brands of mowers. They have been having problems getting stock from the Southeast distributor. They added ECHO to their OPE line-up back in March And I stopped by today and noticed a new brand as well... They have the ECHO ES7300 w/28'" b&c and this beauty in stock Only had MS311 and MS362 in stock on the Stihl board.
The way your dealer is branching out and carrying more than one brand is a testament to the fact that his customers are his #1 priority, not a brand name. I’m sure he’s catching flak for it but hey, he’s got to do what’s right for his customers and his business.
That's a good ope dealer right there. Like Eric said, keeping stock for his customers regardless of brand. I think you need that 7900 Jeff.
Yes. I haven't run one yet, but as sitting as the 6421 runs, that 7900 must wail. Buy that 7900. Great deal on a saw that size. You get German engineering with a Japanese parent company. All that at non German say prices.
I wish...the ECHO 2511T that I demo'ed wound up with a permanent slot on the saw tree......he had a different Echo saw marked demo...I don't know about the Makita
Yep, he told me he had loggers walking out last fall when he couldn't get any Stihl saws. They are good folks
I wish I could swing it right now. Still have to finish paying for the bathroom remodel. He told me the 7900 is the same size class as the MS500i... I have the ms461. Might be better to send it to huskihl...
Nice to see other saws. Those other brands make good saw too. I like Stihl, but I have used them for years and been happy with them. I have a Chinese Earthquake brand saw that has grown on me too. It starts just as easy as the stihls. I keep it as a back up emergency saw. I actually used it last week when I got my Stihl stuck. I like husky too and have a 372. All that said I have an Echo string trimmer I bought off a friend that had been in landscape service 5 years or more and retired. I bought it off them for next to nothing. I still to this day over 10 years later use it as my weed eater. It had always been cold natured and had to warm up before you could feed it the onions. But was fine after that. I didn't run it much one year carb diaphragm I think went out. I bought a Chinese carb off eBay for like $13 and installed it and that trimmer runs better than it ever has, more power down low and starts flawless now. Like I said this thing has to be over 15 years old and the first 5 ish years of life it was run as one of the main trimmers of a landscape company. This trimmer really sold me on Echo quality
Interesting to see the Makita name on a red saw. Ive always associated them with their trademark green. I remember my dad's first cordless drill was a Makita back in the mid 1980's. Get a 500i Jeff! , even better a 661 with all the giant wood that comes your way.
Looks like their electric line of tools is still blue/green. I think Makita bought out Dollar and kept the red color... Maybe 1 day I might get a 661... I like that price on the 7900 better though...
