I'm surprised they're not called peachtree oaks in Georgia.

 

I've heard of willow oak and saw it in my ID book, but never saw one in the wild.
Sounds like a great score!

 

I went by the log pile where the tree service has dropped loads before. I noticed the pile looked different. Sure enough, he had brought another load...

 

That load is big nasty stuff. I also see the signs of metal in there. Be carful when cutting that.

 

That was very nice of you Jeff...I had my finger on top of a log heading into the splutter and my good friend brenndatomu cranked up the speed with his giant foot and almost chopped it off!
