We did get a heavy rain with a nice lightning show, the lightning show lasted over an hour. Hopefully we get the rain they're calling for today.
They say we might get a quarter of an inch of rain today, how much are they calling for in your area?
No guesstimate. We'd be lucky to get .25in. Could use more.. It is turning out to be nothing more than a short steady rain. Heard one distant rumble of thunder.
This is what prompted the Tornado Warning earlier in the #Syracuse metro; one cell was merging into a larger one, then this showed up on radar velocity: rotation tightened to ~80 mph. We are unaware if the rotation ever ended up reaching ground level, however. I was hoping we would get more rain today and tonight so I could fire up the outside fireplace tomorrow and start getting rid of some pine.

I have a feeling things are going to get a little wild here tonight. It rained a little this AM, then the sun came out and it is super humid. Wind is ripping in out of the south at about 20-30MPH. Supposed to hit 98 by the end of the day.
It’s pretty amazing how fast the ground dries out in the heat of summer. It was wet last week and this week I see crispy lawns. Claudette is forecast to bring rain early next week. Hopefully just rain an no wind.
We got clobbered last night. Flooding and trees down everywhere. So much that some have had to be flagged with yellow tape and left for big equipment to get them moved. Drivers just have to be responsible to watch where they are going. many big trees took power lines down with them. In the middle of all this, some troubled soul was on a county road bridge about 140’ above the interstate. My guys, and ems were talking with him, but he jumped. Leaving them with that memory. our power is still off since a gale came in about 6:00 this morning. a quick check of the farm and no trees in the pasture. I will check the woods later. My wife is doing a conference all day and evening. I went to a movie and dinner to kill time. Alas, Came home to no power.
This is for our area tomorrow, we'll take the rain and all the other stuff hopefully doesn't happen. Mostly cloudy and warm; a severe afternoon thunderstorm; storms can bring downpours, large hail, damaging winds, and a tornado
The wind gusts are starting to pick up and it's starting to cloud over but we still haven't seen any rain after the stuff we had this morning. South of us by 3 miles, 149 lost power just after the hard rains this morning, they should have their power back just before the storm hits. The 149 had the power restored around 1 p.m.
