With the tree guys dropping off so many logs I can’t keep up with, I’ve now resorted to trying to get rid of the big nasty pieces- the ones that take too much time and produce a lot of knotty and stringy splits. I put an ad on market place to come pick these up. I had a guy show up with an S10 and a tiny trailer. He ended up with a large stump piece on each. As we were talking I told him I could deliver a dump truck load for $20...more or less to cover my gas because he’s only about 6 miles from me. He jumped at the idea so I brought him a load a week ago. He messaged me Friday looking for more so I gladly obliged. When I dumped this load he said he loved it and wanted more. This is working out great for both of us as time is money for me and I hate dealing with these pieces.

Wow, that guy is awesome. Send him to Minnesota, I have a bunch of crap that I'm not interested in breaking up

Good deal for both. Id hate dealing with them too even with your equipment. How much did you give him?

I don't mind the ugly's all that much, but I am not selling wood, either. People that buy wood don't want to pay as much for ugly's, I am sure, as they don't stack well.

Yep, I won’t touch that stuff anymore. Faster to hoist it up and drive it out into the forest.

I get it time is $$ for you! I’d take 2.5 cord hardwood for $40 delivered regardless of what it looked like!

Have him stop by here on his way. I too don't like the time involved in dealing with that stuff.

You firewood guys are spoiled! It would bring me great pain to see those pieces leave my driveway. :(

Oh there was a time I chopped up everything. Hell, the women collected sticks down to 1/2” that I would run through the cordwood saw.LOL
Just happy those times are behind me. A large influx of wood to be processed coupled with upgrades to my collecting equipment allows me to be choosy.

And I thought this was a thread about x girlfriends.

    Kidding.

But yeah, still noodle uglies from time to time. I guess it comes to what other scores I have on the docket. If there's nothing, then Ill take them.
Last score I cut them took some of the wood off, but tossed the rest out of sight....was cleaning up a little for the landowner.

If they were delivered to my place, I'd cut 'em. That is some dense wood for sure.

I'll deal with them some. We have a guy that likes to burn them for coals to cook hogs on.
