Yes!! Actually it's a big pain in the behind to keep it warm enough for me all winter with long winters (medical thing), husband has to wear tank tops at night after work in the winter and kiddo has to wear summer clothes in the winter too :( I'll be turning on the pellet stove when it gets to low 70's here

Edit, it actually means I am a pain the behind to them, it is what it is.

No additional air - it recylces the indoor air by drawing the air up from below and out thru the vent.

Rub it in - high of 94 yesterday and this morning made it all the way down to 69, with 86% humidity so no opening of the windows.

A bit cooler this morning but humidity of 96% is not so good. Dewpoint is very close to the temperature.

Good news is the weather forecast says cooler weather is on the way and soon we'll be back in the 50's at night and a few days in the 70's.

A 42 year old man is looking for a ride across the island this Saturday. He'll pay 60% of the fuel costs.

I'd be tempted to do it if I didn't have so much else to do this weekend.

Sunsets are so impressive this time of year. Humidity has finally dropped to 33%. Still warm very comfortable.

This morning while at work (I work from home) I stepped out to the driveway for a health break. I looked over to the shed and there was a groundhog next to the shed. I snapped a picture and snuck back in the house and grabbed my ear protection and the .244 Remington and quietly came back out to where I could see him. I put the crosshairs on him, let out half a breath, and gently squeezed between heartbeats. BOOM, got im... I'm so proud of myself...

This picture is full zoom on my phone camera.

I run over to check out my shot.

    oops rock hog.jpg

OOPS, it was a rock-hog instead of a ground-hog! Wife's not gonna be happy bout this... I could have sworn it moved a little right before I squeezed off a round...

I sware to the naked eye it looked just like a groundhog... we've been having them going in and out from under the shed. That's why the cage is there...

If you need more practice, just feel free to come here. I'm becoming overrun with them and seeing lots on the road too.

Buy some double bubble bubble gum and last a few pieces out for the groundhog. They'll eat it and apparently it doesn't sit well with them. It works.

Gonna have to try this...Been too lazy to get the 22 out and kill the bastages! Got some babies running around this year.

Full pieces of gum or break them up...Toss into holes or just put it near the hole?

LOL. That is awesome. I hope you get them. I have a few to get rid of down by camp. I’ll try the gum thing. That really works? How does it kill them? Gets stuck?

brenndatomu told me about this. I simply unwrapped a few, like 5, pieces and put them near it's hole. A few days later all gum was gone, and I never saw, or smelled the groundhog again. Quiet and effective.

I'll give that a try. We have a few live traps I keep around some of the buildings when I see signs of them. The ones that get caught in those get the 22 pistol treatment, but my preffered method is the .244 Remington with a nosler 70 grain ballistic tip. Deadly at any line of site distance on our farm...
