I very seldom get anything over 20" in diameter (due to the logistics of getting timber out of the national forest). I agree with you on the preference for smaller logs. The big stuff is cool and fun, but I prefer the more manageable diameter stuff. I have about 6+ cords waiting to be processed so have time before I get to this latest score and will look around at prices on a 36" bar. I have plenty of tools/equipment that only get used once in a while, but I'm glad I have them when I need them.

I was thinking about getting a 462 last fall before buZZsaw BRAD told me about the 500i. Cha-ching. I tried sending him the bill for that however the bill was returned to sender in a box filled with black locust sawdust.

 Absolutely! A great investment and I'm glad I waited for my dealer to get one instead of buying the 462.

Nice that the log was elavated. There is a leaning curve to using a bar that long that im still on. Its not easy trying to buck a log resting on the ground with it. I did like his technique though. One ive been trying more and more lately.

Nothing to it Tom, ya just order it & have it shipped straight to huskihl 's address. He stuffs it with X tra sausage, he sends it on to you & you smile every time you run it. The guy that said money can't buy happiness never ran a ported 500i.

The one I saw was ported. I was very impressed with the light weight, just from picking it up.
