Sorry, I haven't post for a while. I just made a few stuff with my chainsaw and since I don't have any pictures it hasn't happened, right? Anyway today a neighbor brought me a load of hazelnut.

Last winter there was a lack of firewood on the market so the neighbor got my birch wood that I had on hand. You can read about it here: Firewood scarcity

The deal was that he get me a few pieces of hazelnut when the winter was over. IMG-20210603-WA0008.jpeg IMG-20210603-WA0010.jpeg
He got 1 cord of css birch and I got 2 cords of this. Hazelnut has higher btus than oak. Plus that I prefer stuff that only need to spit once. So I will be busy for a while.

More pictures will come as soon as I start css.

Does it smell nice when you burn it? Like toasted hazelnuts?

I was wondering if you had some hazelnut coffee delivered but this fire wood is much better.

Won't have to split most of that. Nice score.

I've used hazelnut "stems" for marshmallow roasting sticks for as long as I've been alive. There's no hazelnut goodness in the tree/ shrub " trunk" that I've ever detected. There's also no nasty flavors either.
