Buddy came over with his drone yesterday. Got some aerial shots that I will use to mark water lines, electrical lines, septic and such. Perhaps the next person that owns this place can benefit from the effort. I know it would have been great to have when I ripped out the grey water line. Edit.. Used caution tape in all trenches. Will have a copy with the deed and abstract of title. Umm, I think the polebarn may be larger than the house.
Looks great Brother...nice looking property too!! Over budget...Seems like a bad time to be building anything, but I work for a GC, and we have never been busier! Congrats on the new barn!
Starting tomorrow night through Thursday night, they have us getting an inch of rain which we need real bad.
Thanks Yeah, I'd have preferred lumber prices from about 2 yrs ago, but I didn't want to wait for another year in the "hope" that prices come back down. GC? Not familiar, and I'm sure we likely discussed employers at one of the GTG's. Edit.. N'mind.. General Contractor.. Duhh Over a few beers & some Fireball (Edit.. and cornflakes) perhaps Yep, lots of farmers will be happy with some rain. At least last Friday was a good soaking rain. That helps.
could you put some "Perf'' pipe, or put in a ''french drain'', for a better drainage, and run it out the back to keep the water away from the building?
For foundation drains yes, but mixing surface water and ground water doesn't work. Need a "swail" or gutter to direct the surface water away.
We finally had rain during the night and so far it's still falling, we need about a week of this steady (not hard) rain. Did it rain hard your way Chaz ?
Woke up this morning to a down pour. Amish are hard at work. Owen is inside making doors for the barn. Has the munchkin helping him. Here's a few pics. Threw a couple of the drainage ditches up. The by the barn, Chaz went up and got it draining at 5,:30 this morning.
