In Yellowstone, I think you can catch golden trout right at the visitors front gate. Tons of people driving and walking by some ultra rare fish.

Got a few days off from work. Finished up some welding projects and split some wood.

    IMG_20210525_115119575_HDR.jpg
Each row is 24 ft long so roughly a cord per row. Split wood for 4 hours. Front row is pine, cedar, and softer wood that will age fast and burn first. 2nd row is Hedge, locust, and Oak to be burned only on the coldest of days. I need 2 more cord aging right now. I may buy a cord or 2 of seasoned slab wood to help with a 3 year plan.

Shelf welded up and bolted to splitter. Sure helps with the big pieces. Kids can load the shelf with the next piece as I'm finishing up the previous round.

Old truck hitch modified for 3 point hitch and skidder plate. Need to add side to side angles to stiffen up the upright and probably weld angle iron to the top with notches to hold chains. So far the only thing I've moved with it is my old truck that won't start or run anymore. Truck broke down where I parked it in the front yard. Wife complained about it being in front yard so I drug it behind the shop so you can not see it from the road.

Come to Acadia Dennis. Those idiots will just run you down in the roads to get somewhere and when they get out they can’t even walk because they are so full of granola. Don’t try to buy a beer anywhere either it’s all that disgusting microbrew tastes like dog chit stuff for $17 a glass.

The ankle is still not back to 100% yet. Getting there slow but sure though. These ankle braces are helping .... E4402D81-06E0-4ED3-B5C7-527D02515401.jpeg Added stability for $15 each. So much uneven ground that I work on, I’m not going to take the chance.

One of 4 drainage grates I'm finishing up for a dog kennel my wife works at. When it's installed it will have a rubber mat over it to keep dog paws from falling through the bars.

Quick attach washer adapters I made for my tractor receiver hitch.

    IMG_20210526_232606071.jpg
Washers are similar to what I can get at Rural King,...but mine are stainless steel from the scrap pile and have a pin hole top and bottom of lift pin to keep them from tilting or moving around when hooking up.

And we just got one nuc of honey bees places in a TARDIS themed beehive. 4 hours after install and the workers were already bringing leg fulls of pollen. In one day the filled 2 frames with necter.

If you are more into magic type stuff, start with The Storms of Magic arc by PT Hylton and Michael Anderle (Storm Raiders, Storm Callers, Strom Breakers and Storm Warriors). Those stand well enough on their own, don't need a lot of back story, and hint just enough of other arcs.

If you are more into modern day with a sprinkle of the Unknon world (werewolves, vamps that are hidden), start at the beginning with Death Becomes Her by Michael Anderle.

All of them have plenty of action, killing and humor. Most of them have a lot of imaginative cursing. Here is the Kurtherian Universe Timeline (click on the different Ages). I'm trying to find the one that I downloaded into Excel, but will have to search for it

Got the hole in the house for the drain pipe filled in with hydraulic cement this morning. I hate working with that stuff....goes from too soupy to oh crap in about 30 seconds. Will coat that with rubber sealer this evening and backfill before the rain comes tonight.

Big cool down for the weekend...high in low 60's Saturday. Should feel good running the sawmill.

Mixing it with refrigerated water slows it down enough to work with it a little...

Taking a rare night off. Kids games got rained out. Went out to dinner and currently sitting on the porch listening to it rain, sipping on some of Kentucky's finest.

Thanks very much. I saw a neuro ophthalmologist today and the upshot is that it will take months to recover. Could be as much as eight. I see him again in six weeks to check any progress.

I saw two giant military planes today, they were flying extremely low and slow. It was crazy to see those giant boats flying so slow and low, like they were floating, they just kept making large circles. 4 engines on one of them for sure, they looked grey, like a primered car, I made out some red stripes on the tail fin of one of them. Left town, closer to home there was a giant helicopter, the long ones with a prop near the front and another near the back. No air shows here I'm aware of, but maybe the Army or Air Nat Guard are practicing for a show somewhere else?

This last year or two they've been doing things up there, draining some streams and ponds to kill off non native species. One surprised me (Brookie or Brown or similar?).
