After talking to husksil and making a plan for a couple of saws my friend dropped a 2166 off and said it do didn't run. He took it to a local shop and they told him it wasn't worth fixing. So today was kinda slow at work and I go to fiddling with it. It has spark, compression, and getting fuel so I try to start. No go. I think about it a minute and says well all it needs now is sir so I pull the filter still no start. Scratching my head then I decided maybe the air can't get out, drill out the muffler and it screams to life and cuts like a dream. I offer it back to said bud but he said naw I gave it to you. Also has a new 20 Oregon bar and chain. Win for me
Sounds like the guy at the local shop, didn't know Jack! That or he just didn't want to mess with it, or maybe hoping to take it in trade for nothing on another saw.
Sounds like the still/Honda dealer they use at work nothing gets repaired, they are parts changers. I was looking for some carb parts they told me they could only get a complete carb. I had the parts I was looking for in my tool box but I wanted to replace them so I had some in stock. They told me nope carb only. Well when I handed the guy the bags with the part numbers I asked if he would rather I just order them off the internet? He changed his tune.
Think you're both right . He was wanting to sale a new saw then make money on a older saw. Going buy there tomorrow and see what he has to say about himself.
