DexterDay...Can you turn this into my OAK??

    Felt like I was hi-jacking a thread, so I started this one. The ash trap on my stove exits the front of the chimney, any thoughts on how to use this for outside air?? 20140730_203803.jpg 20140730_203839.jpg

    If you could core drill (or otherwise fashion) a hole through the back of the firebox, you should be able to run an OAK pipe through there no problem.

    The only problem I see is how low the clean out is to the ground and the potential for snow to block it. If you don't mind running the OAK up a bit that could work. Also you can go up the chimney. Need to be 12 inches away from the exhaust. Material all metal.

    As Save$ said, the snow may be a problem?

    But..... all we need to do is run a foot or two of 3" rigid pipe up? The clean out is big enough to run a flex pipe out of. And honestly, I have a hole saw that we could just cut through the door. :) It wouldn't look bad at all. Will help with your heating and make your stove more efficient.

    KIT very often, those parts are sold together as an assembly and referred to as a kit. includes the clamps, flexible pipe, inside flange, and vent.

    A lot of the brews that Great Lakes Brewing Company make.. :) Their Christmas Ale is my favorite beer in the world. Only problem is its like $11-$13 a 6 pack and it's only made from November-Dec/Jan and only shipped kinda locally. Once it's gone, it's gone until July when they do a short run (mainly legs for bars) for Christmas in July. I just had some last weekend and boy was it delicious!

    But they do make 4 packs of other seasonal brews. As do other makers of micro brews. There is a beer shop about 20 minutes away in a town called Oberlin that has a LOT of different beers. Huge selection..

    As I currently work for a dist. a little info-montana now #3 beer consumption(figured against population),more microbrewerys(buy population,again) but 99% of their beer rates very poorly.Beer sales nationwide up over 16%.Hard liquer down a lot.Very normal in any recession/depression.AB amd Miller/coors way down in sales.Sitting here having a moose drool(was free) trying to figure out how to pick up new stove I bought,just some beer facts.

    Moose Drool? Is that the name of a beer? If it is, then it's worth trying just because of the name. Whoever came up with that one hit a home run! Being from a state with a lot (supposedly) of moose, I really like the name.

    Moose Drool is good stuff. I drank a few (six packs) of that when I was in Montana in 2008.

    A party store a few miles down the road from me started carrying Big Sky Brewing's beers. My favorite flavor is Slow Elk, but they haven't been carrying that one since last winter. Last time I stopped in all they had was Trout Slayer, which is still a good beer.

    Next time I make it to Montana I'd like to swing through Missoula and visit their brewery. Missoula is the only 'big city' I haven't been to in Montana.

    Once again, a pellet related thread has turned to beers. :drunk:
