While my Keystone Soapstone is on order I have a quick question concerning it.....Does it require what we would call a "Break in fire??"...I know my Jotul F600 required 2 initially....Do Soapstone stoves with a cast iron frame require the same and if so..how many & what temp??? Thanks :)

A little bit but not enough to be an issue. It is pretty much like you will do after re-gasketing and also curing the cement around the flue. You will do it in early fall so won't want a big fire anyway. Also if you have new flue pipe you won't want a big fire else you will have all doors and windows open because that new flue will smoke some.

What Dennis said. Basically just trying to force the ambient moisture out of the stone without flashing it to steam. Chances are good most owners never read or follow those instructions but hey, why not?
