Yesterday I got the the front yard re top soiled and re grass seeded where the ash trees were. That was a bit of work. I still have the big ash tree in the back to haul the mulch/ stump grindings away, then put the top soil and seed down.

Today, I'll probably mow the lawn and work on the garden. As well as work on moving the mulch from that big ash tree that was in the back yard.

I was enlarging the garden a bit over the last few days for my wife and daughter. This involved moving the wire fence away and digging up and transplanting two good size maples that were approximately 8-10 feet tall, and four smaller maples approximately 4 to 6 feet tall. Theses were growing in the fence line and blocking the sun. I got those all transplanted and then came across a large flat rock just under the ground where I was trying to enlarge the garden. Several smaller flat rocks came out nicely and were saved for a rock garden. But this big one was the size of a long dining room table and about 12-16” inches thick. I thought about leaving it there and just covering it was enough dirt but I just couldn’t do it. What a rock that would be for a rock garden! I decided to make a project out of it and pull it out with the M6040. My neighbor heard the commotion and came over and helped with his skid steer. Success! Positioned the big one about where a big Pine stump was that I recently took out.(Pine was dying at the top and was too close to power line.) then placed the smaller ones in a half circle in front of it. Now all I have to do is bring in some topsoil to go between all the rocks. I’ll take some pictures before and after topsoil goes in.

Garden is now about 60 square feet bigger. Wife said that’s big enough. Don’t need too much work. She is right!

Good you are ok Canadian border VT.

Was that a chinesium 500 lb rating or an American rating? I'd probably contact the manufacturer, and let them know of the issue.

Taxes done, garden weeded and half planted, lawn mowed, watered the grass seeded areas, garbage and recycling are at the curb, grilled marinated chicken shish kabobs, and had fun with the pup outside. I forgot how much Hayden loves the sprinkler. He just dried out.

I'm good with my work today. Drink time is well underway.

Canadian border VT glad you survived the snapped cane with only minor bruises and hopefully little pain. Normally a 500# rating would have a 1.5% safety factor IMO...sounds like you should research your next cane a bit closer!

Horkn sounds like a bunch of work completed today!

I'm sure canes are different than ladders, but I know on ladders breaking load is usually at least double the ladders rated load...could be an age/cumulative "non standard" uses (hammer, pry bar, grabber tool, etc) type of thing?

Making a little corner bathroom sink cabinet. This one was a little harder to figure out than I'm used to. Should be able to finish it this evening after work.
