My tree guy took care of me again this week. Norway Maple. Consistently cut this time. Almost all of them are 16” plus/minus a little. He finally has a well trained crew. Hopefully they will split into nice rectangular blocks and not be a knarly twisted unstackable splits . One or two more loads this summer will replace last winters use and keep me on a 4 year rotation.
Yes, it's good stuff. Better than red or silver maple, but not quite as good as sugar. I think I saw it at around 22 mbtu a cord. So it's great firewood.
