The wife was off with her girlfriend’s having a Mother’s Day brunch so I grabbed the saw and went off to the town wood dump (I’ve mentioned before) there was some ash and some sketchy maple. All of it was sitting on gravel so I put on a well used chain. I got six rounds, a little less than a quarter cord. I had fun. The log had a big crack down the middle and some of the wood was discolored from moisture/mildew. crack made for easy splitting.
Some nice wood there Thom. Great little scrounge and nice to see ash with tight bark yet. Ill take cutting wood over brunch anyday...unless there's bacon. The title confused me when i saw the ash.
