Yesterday was cloudy damp and breezy with a high in the low 50s. And I caught a chill late in the day so I lit the stove last night. Odds and ends pieces. 39 this morning . I THOUGHT I WAS DONE FOR THE YEAR.... nope.
40 and 71. Raining pretty good. The house was down to 64 yesterday so I loaded the stove. Several mornings coming with lows around 32. I’m pretty sure this is the latest I’ve ever ran the stove. Thought I was done couple weeks ago.
Yeaterday was 50s, breezy and damp. House was 62 when we got home from the boy' s game. Black cherry did the warm up. Calling for lows of high 30s, low 40s with rain here and there until friday. Going to need to bring some more wood down or run the furnace.
32 degrees and snowing since dawn. 74 in the house. Mr. Douglas Fir is keeping us nice and warm. Supposed to get up to 20” of snow between now and Tuesday.
So it begs the question... when does spring show up where you’re at? Or do you live in a place where there is no real spring or fall, where it goes from winter to summer/summer to winter virtually overnight?
It’s spring here, because it’s 32 and snowing. If it was February, it would be single digits. The summers here are incredibly beautiful, but very short.
39 and never higher than 42 today. Fire going again since last night. Had moved all the wood off the patio other than a wheelbarrow full for an occasional evening fire. Going to have to refill the wheelbarrow tomorrow
It's been cool and damp, the kind of day that's good for movies and a nice fire. Sadly, I shut our stove down a couple weeks ago...
Ice on the water again. I feel for the farmers who jumped the gun and planted beans. I fear many fields will be replanted. Corn can take a freeze but beans are tender plants. The only saving thing is the ground is not warming much so growing is slowed. But there is some up already. And it is still very dry here.
nuggets and chunks of a mixture of hardwoods both today and yesterday as well. I had a small bin left in the basement and both days it was chilly in the house when I woke up. Never thought that in the middle of may that the stove would be getting used but it has. Not paying the gas company any more than necessary.
Still burning here, but only for DHW. Got lots of soft maple uglies that I'm working on getting rid of. Once they are gone I'll probably be done for the year.
