Tree service took out a couple elms just down the street from my house over the last couple days. I drove by several times rubber necking and wishing I could get the wood. Yesterday morning the city maintenance guy came by work and said that there’s several nice logs at the dump. I told him I would like to have them but didn’t really have time to mess with them. He offered to load them with his backhoe. I told him that I would meet him out there in 20 minutes!:D

I won’t get it CSSed till later this fall

Boss makes a dollar, I make a dime, that's why I scrounge logs on company time.:thumbs::thumbs:

The city maintenance guy sent me a text yesterday telling me that there’s a bunch more elm logs at the dump, some is dead and dry.
Maybe this weekend I’ll have a chance, if it’s still there.

Take the dump truck. I can ask your boss to give you the afternoon off for "personal" reasons. ;)
    What's his number?

I can take the truck anytime, and it’s even easier if I use it to get wood for the shop at work.
Still gonna have to do it on the weekend though because we have more pressing matters at work right now

Talked to the city maintenance guy this evening, I guess there’s several more bigger logs there now. He’s isn’t sure what kind, maybe cottonwood, maybe elm, I’ll check tomorrow
