No brace. Not sure if that would help spasms or not

I haven’t. I use the forks for picking up logs and any bins that get full of junk wood. I load splits by hand

Have this current oak pile up to 80 feet in length with plenty of Goldilocks wood ready to be split.

Was working on the bigger mixed rounds today getting them ready for the big splitter. This was some good sized sugar maple which I don’t get much of. That’s the 390 with 24” bar on it.

Gnarly SOB. SM not that common down there? What percentage of your wood is maple of all types?

Sugar maple is not very common down here. In fact, I only recall seeing it as a yard tree. As for the rest of the maples, I would say they make up 25-35% of my mixed hardwood. Its mostly red (aka swamp) or silver. I do also get some Manitoba/Norway but once again, that's a yard tree.

Cut some monster ash and poplar today. Some of this was close to 4’ in diameter and you guys know just how much I love that big stuff!

Anything over about 30" is just flat out hard work & time consuming. I'll often cut that to 16" rather than 24". Saves weight & time when splitting. Piles are looking good jrider !

I have about 2 cords worth of old logs further out in the field I want to get taken care of before I start working on this sea of logs. Have enough here to keep me busy for the better part of the summer.
