I highly recommend Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac. They are the same tire on my new truck and come with midnight Silverado’s. I know you said budget, but they are aggressive, wear great, and are reasonable in the highway.

The last 2 work trucks I have gotten both had great tires from factory. The Colorado had firestone destination AT they lasted like 55k. The Ram1500 came with goodyear wrangler AT silent armor I believe. The ones that look like the have the two wider lugs in the middle. They were load range E and I got like 50k out of them. I know I ride a good bit of highway, but I don't baby them, stomp it like I stole it time to time. Off road, 4wd wheel spin, mud and sand. Why. Always surprised to see people say their factory tires lasted 15k or 20k or whatever? All suspension is tight and correct geometry I have always had best life on my trucks out of that first set. Now these are for work, I personally have never bought anew vehicle and never will.

Firestone destination is the tires I was happy with, but they jacked the price up.

There's talk that rubber products will be the next crunch in the Auto industry, as far as shortages.

Had BFG All Terrain tires on my Xterra when I bought it. Drove those tires 80K. Didn't do much off-road with them, and a lot of the miles were highway, but was quite happy with the life of the tire. The BFGs got replaced with Cooper Evolution tires in 2017... to some degree because I can walk to the Cooper shop from my work (yeah, I know... not the best reason for buying a tire). They have something like 40K on them now... same work load as the BFGs. Some wear, but not excessive by any means. Pretty happy with them although I think the BFG performed better. I would think I'd get another 20K out of the Coopers at the current use rate.

Of course....they are picking from their list. Once the price is where they want it there will be plenty :headbang:

Speaking of shortages. This is only related in the word shortage to this thread. I .at as well detail my own thread. Y'all probably know I'm a Forester, those who have been around awhile. All I really do is timber sales. Millions a year. This crazy increase in dimensional lumber at least here in the south has only equates to a 10 to 15% increase in stumpage price. It has however made demand go up a bit which is good. Ok that's my derail, back to tires.

I like BFG Commercial T/A’s, but they are priced way too high now. I have Dextero AT’s on my duramax, they are a cheaper Walmart tire, but they last 1-2 years for me. I try to keep the mileage off of the diesels and put it on the SUV or car. They get Goodyear viva3’s and last about 40-50K. Wish we had a tire shop local, but when Walmart built their tire shop, both the local shops closed within a year

I just put 2 douglas tires I got From walmart a few weeks back. I had them stashed in the shed. Bought online had delivered to house and had to have a atv tire put on...I couldn't bget it with tire irons myself. Literally bent the rim trying to pry it on. So I decided not was a good time to take the Highlander rims to get it done.

I grew up driving on gravel roads on the farm. I've never seen a set of tires last their stated milage life when they are used on gravel and off road every day.

Factory tires are usually spec'ed out to optimize fuel economy and ride feel on a paved road. About 30k miles on any factory truck tire is phenomenal when driving on rock all day.

I'll have to see what my old man is running on his truck. At one time the local tire shop sold Milemarker and Kohmo tires for trucks.

Hankook Dynapro RF10 ATM's are great. I dont even really need to use 4wd in the snow.

I came close to getting a set of Honkooks when I got the Bridgestone .

I know nothing gets the stated mileage but I want to get as close as possible.

I also came close this time to get the Kuhmo AT51 I read many people say they lasted long and performed well. But the last set of khumos I bought for the Highlander was an highway tire. I paid a little more for the solis kr21 over some other cheaper tire I was going to get because the kuhmos had a good wear number and I think 70k advertised warranty. They were bald at 15 to 20k, smooth worn out past wear strips. I rotated them as well. Car was aligned. I swore I would never get a set of khumos again cause those were so bad. I called the company. They said I had to have proof of rotations etc. I said I rotate them myself. They said I would need a log book or something, sure I could have gone and backdated something but I didn't feel like all that mess. I have a good buddy who works at a dealer. He was able to get me a set off Goodyear Wranglers that they took off the Jeeps when they put factory lifts on them. They might of had 3 miles or 50 miles etc on them but they put them in the shop and sold them to employees. He told me they would be $100 for the set. But he told me they just gave them to him when he asked for a set. That eased the sting from those Khumos and I was just done at that point is why I didn't do the log book route just to have them tell me something else wasnt right and then I didn't want khumos again anyway. Those wranglers were worn out in 30 to 40k.

My buddy bought a truck from my neighbor with dynapros on it. They've got somewhere around 70k on them and still lots of life left.

My daily driver 4runner has had nothing but cheap tires since I've owned it. 1st set was kumho solus. They're very much a highway tire but lasted a long time. Next set was cheap Goodyear wranglers. Like $80 a piece cheap. Their lifespan was ok and they were really good in snow. Current set is BFG cheappies from walmart. 25k on them so far and my guesstimate is they'll go to 40k.
For real budget tires, take-offs can be found cheap. My truck has Michelin XLTs that I bought used. Somebody bought a truck and wanted big mud tires, so I bought their nearly new Michelins. After the horrendous ride I had with my previous Duratracs, I love the Michelins.
A few years ago my sister needed new tires on her truck but was in a tight spot financially. My dad and I bought her a set of dunlops on rims that a guy was taking off his brand new 4runner. $300 for new tires with rims that look nicer than her originals.

All the Kumho tires, I've used have been great, but I've never bought truck/ at tires from them, just higher performance car tires. They are korean, but at least not Chinese.

This is crazy. I put the khumo solus on my Highlander and depending on the era of 4 runner there very close to the same size. In the 01 year the Highlander was actually a few inches longer than the 4runner. It's front wheel drive. And i believe still over 4000 pounds. Anyway crazy yours lasted long and mine were bald at 16k. I keep the stuff in an app so I. An go back to the miles. Plus I have pics that show a date when installed and a year or so later coming off bald.

They actually still had tread on them but they were getting bad in snow/wet.

I drive like an old man. And the 4cyl Tacoma isn’t exactly burning rubber. I’m still on my original break pads at 115k.
