Yet another year I missed the festivities!!!
I was busy chasing turkeys in the hills of northern PA. Kind of makes me feel like Linus waiting on the great pumpkin.....
    I did find a big old uprooted blow down. 705BCEBF-3542-425B-A1F9-3A0CD04AC6BD.jpeg F4949356-5124-405C-819F-805477D9AB81.jpeg 42815A57-EB49-4506-858D-29DA1B5EF6C6.jpeg

Hello everyone. I realize I have not been on the forum much and no doubt most understand why. I will be posting some pictures soon and yes, we got a group picture so I will try to give names when that is posted.

We started this GTG when our first furst (Chvymn99 ) arrived Wednesday evening. Several more came Thursday morning and evening and more arrived that night. Thursday was a wet day until maybe 3:00, although very little rain fell; not even anywhere near a tenth of an inch. After it stopped we went to a neighbor's place and dropped several popple. I forgot to count but maybe 15 of them or more.

Friday turned out to be quite nice after a couple of very light showers that was nor even enough to settle the dust. We went to another neighbor's to cut his wood. He and I had stacked a bunch of logs before hand so all we had to do was to buck an split it. Then came back here for a good meal before going across the road to tackle a big and nasty oak. Some went back by the creek in our place to cut some dead elm. Then a big meal that evening. The wind had came up that day, but not as bad as predicted. The temperature began falling too and it got a bit chilly.

Saturday was a nice day but it started cold. There was some ice on water, but it warmed fast. We spent several hours cutting and splitting before stopping for a big meal followed by door prizes which we donated by several hoarders. For sure a special thank you goes Many donors of door prizes. From a chain saw, donated by Gary and metal cutouts by metal cutter and many more. In addition all the food and the smokers and grills without it would be difficult to have a GTG. Thank you all.

And big thank you to everyone who came. It was great and I hope everyones trip home goes good.

To me the biggest surprise was after the door prizes were given and I was presented with the most fantastic book I've ever seen. It is a tribute to the love of my life who is waiting in Heaven for me. I do apologize to those who were here as I could not get through this without sort of breaking down a bit. In addition the tears are flowing as I write this. My son also just finished showing the book to his wife and when they finished he was really crying. He misses his mother.

wildwest deserves a super big thank you for putting this together and I so wish I could just give her a big hug right now. Heidi, you are wonderful. May God bless you.

Dennis, I'm honored to be able to do that for you, everyone here loves and cherishes you and Judy. The whole gang pitched in locating pictures, discussed certain ones, and the titles on the front and spine, truly a FHC family effort for you.

I'll take that hug and squeeze you back! The most fantastic gift I was given was from you, putting my thoughts together into a poem story that I read at my Father's funeral. It was a gift to all that were there too.

    This is great!

I have to also tell you the picture on the back cover really brought the tears to my son's eyes.
