I just finished my latest wood cube (from delivered logs). Although, it's more rectangular than square this time. It's the 4th one: 2013, 14,15, and now 16. I won't get to that 13 cube for a while (to see how it seasoned) since I have maybe 10-12 older non-cube stacks. Running out of space, but maybe room enough for one more...... lol.

I topcovered yesterday and put them on top. I plan on chipping/shredding the splitter trash, to the degree the ancient chipper allows, after it dries out here. I have a small pile of bark to chip as well.

I tried to split pretty small and uniform, but I got into some gnarly stuff as well. How can something that's so round on the outside be so convoluted on the inside?

On the small pieces that are too small to be put on top of the cover, yet too large for the chipper, I plan to put them in a plastic garbage bag with holes drilled on the bottom to breath and drain, and some type of cover on top that will also breath but keep most of the rain out.

Yeah, skeeter, we should all go take some of that off his hands. It's gonna rot for sure if we don't. :hair::rofl:

    IMG_20210501_152323316_HDR.jpg Greetings everyone!

I do believe I'm going to breaking into the 2013 cube. I'll probably only need a cord and a half to replenish the garage stack. I'll let you know how it looks, but with only 1.5 cords or so, I don't know how far into the middle I'll get.

At least one lesson learned: even the heavy black plastic from HD disintegrates over time.

On another note, I ran out of room, so I didn't get a truckload this year, lol.

That’s a first for me seeing trees growing from a stack cover. The woodpile itself still looks good though, and as long as your cover wasn’t leaking I’m sure it’ll be very dry. Let us know how you make out. :salute:

I'm sure it has leaks. We'll see the effect it's had.
