If I didn't already have enough to do this week. Neighbor wants this stuff gone. He cut it 2 and 3 years ago. And for some reason he doesn't want to burn it in his stove. Its all Aspen and birch. He said if I want it come and get it. So I got started today. There is probably 6 to 8 more loads this size. Its only about 300-400 yards away from my place.
Nice! How is the wood for quality? Those two species punk out rather fast, no? I like the trailer set up for that quad!
It's sound enough for what it is. Close , easy, no or minimal splitting, free , and mostly seasoned. 2 more loads this morning.
The trailer could be a little bigger. But I'm old so I prefer to load light and go often. And this trailer works in all the woods situations I seem to get myself into. To date I've never got it stuck to the point I had to offload it to get unstuck. However , I do want to make a walkin beam , tandem wheel setup for it . And. build a set of skis for it. I'm just kinda wacky for sleds. Love havin lots of sleds. I've got one bent trailer wheel already ( not currently on the trailer) If I can find another I'll make up a set of skis and weld the frame of the ski to the wheel. Make an easy switch over spring and fall. I've thot about wheel skis. May go that route. But much more complicated and not as skookum
I'm gonna go around and execute all the spruce I can. It will take over. Then Ill have squirrels and wildfire danger. And minimal view.
