    Congrats on locking in the new stove Nordic Splitter! The following question is not to make you second guess your decision, but because I am on the fence between the two..... Did you ever consider the Absolute Steel? If so, what drew you over to the Keystone?

    For me the big difference would be soapstone. But the AS is still good and a hybrid.

    This is my "Retirement" stove...I wanted one that would cut down on the wood consumption.....look great and really hold the heat for an extended period of time...

    I live near Syracuse, so same climate. I ran a load of just pine today @ 8am, and its still warm to the touch. It may not be the biggest stove, but its kept me nice and warm w/o much trouble.
