Thanks for the warm welcome! I've been lurking for a few years, registered about a year ago, and a new saw seemed like a good time for a first post. Is the 562 something of an uncommon saw? I ask because I dug out the serial number to register it, and it was produced in December 2020. It would seem that fewer than 500 were produced last year. That struck me as low. Is the 60cc class of saws something of a middle child between the 50s and 70s? Does anyone know what annual production numbers are for the 572?
I consider 60cc an in between saw, but that’s because of how I was raised using 50&70. the Stihl 462 outsells the 572 4-1. That could be dealer support. In my area there is only one Husqvarna dealer and it’s not close. Stihl dealers are everywhere. There were some issues with the initial run of 562’s that may have hurt its reputation, but Husqvarna corrected them Safe cutting with the new saw and keep posting your firewood adventures.
I don’t know that it’s an uncommon saw, I do know that several members here have one, as do I. Got mine new close to 3 years ago, about the same time I joined up here. At that point It was my second saw. Now I’m up to 10. 60ish cc’s seems like the best all around size firewood saw, at least for my situation. Keep the pictures coming, let’s see your stacks, wood hauler, other toys, dogs etc...
Interesting. I bought the 562 on something of a whim when my old 445 likely died. For my uses, in the sort of terrain I cut (like the photo above), I don't need or really want anything more than an 18" bar with a sharp chain. I could see going to the 70cc saw for long bars or cutting off log piles, but for my uses I think 60cc is enough. Maybe I'll change my mind in time.
