I decided to measure my stacks after finishing up for the night tonight. The five stacks in the center measured on average, 17 to 18 feet in length and 3.5 feet high. I cut all my wood to 16 inches. The stacks in the back right are 7 feet long by 4 feet high. I need to get more pallets over there before I stack anymore. I bought my 25 ton Yardmax splitter on February 28th, and everything I measured was split since then. I still have a pile of ash rounds to split. I Plan on stacking it along the panel in the back left. Theres two rows of empty pallets behind my stacks. Im thinking with the pallets I have now, I could get around 10 cords stacked. Most of what I have is austree willow, some elm, river birch, silver maple, mulberry and hackberry. Not a bad mix for campfire wood.
Nice stacks! And behind the machine shed so the wife doesn’t have to see it! those pics look just like my in-laws farm in NW Iowa! Gods country right there! What part of Iowa?
Southwest Iowa. If your a fan of Bob Seger, its about an hour on a long and lonesome highway, east of Omaha.
