Just finished splitting about 1.5 cord of the most twisted cherry ever. I'd rather split the elm I worked on last month than do anymore cherry like that

That sux. Hand or hydro split? Ive had cherry be miserable to split when i thought it'd be easy.

With your thread title i thought it was a new adult beverage. :coldone:
Maybe your can create your own alcoholic concoction to have after dealing with twisted cherry.

Cherry can be worse than gum when it wants to be.

I’ve split cherry that made a 360° twist in about 6-8 blocks. Miserable.
But the next one splits like ash

I’ve found both White Ash and Cherry to be twisty and have lots of branches and crotches. Depends on growing conditions I think.

Some of those big cherry yard trees can be miserable. The grain gets so crooked that noodling them produces sawdust, rather than noodles.

They'll never split straight, but seem to split easier if you can let the rounds dry for a couple of months. That being said, because it's someone's yard tree, you can't let the rounds sit for a couple of months.

Very Good Brad that cracked me up.

Just got back from lake Havasu. Did not have any twisted beverages but did manage to have a little whisky.

If I get nasty Cherry like that I run it through the chipper & bag it for smoker chips. Some is just miserable.
