Daughter wanted to make some monies and Ive wanted to try it out so we went into the roadside bundle business. I have never sold any wood, always seemed like a lot of work for a little money. We used 1 and 2/3 cord last year and have over 10 cords on site so I figured we could at least try it out. The pieces are between 12" and 14" Siberian elm. Dont ask why the weird lengths. Must have been shortys or the pieces were already cut. Figured they burn just as well. Not sure cubic feet either. We live on a blacktop on the way to a lake so hoping that will help.

Looks like she'll get a lot of business. Generous amount for $5. Best of luck with it and let us know how it goes.

We arent real sure how much to put it. About 8 pieces per bundle, seemed like a decent amount. Figured if they go well maybe up the amount a little and double the price. Time will tell.

Looks good! I just had my first sale of roadside bundles yesterday. One person bought 4 at $5 a piece. Its a little cooler here right now so I don't think people are burning much wood yet. Time will tell.

Close, but its Kanoplis lake that we aren't real far from. We are definitely a salt heavy region.

Daughter looks really excited. Tell her good luck in her new venture.
If they're camping they're burning as long as it's not actually raining (or snowing). Doesn't matter if its 45*f or 95*f campers are going to have a fire.
That's a great price for that much wood. Also I'd try to keep at least 10 bundles stocked on the stand. Your going to get alot of people buying 2, 3 or more bundles.

Put up a sign indicating it’s run by a kid. People love to support hard working kids. Hopefully you’ll have to build a bigger stand in the near future

Wishing you and your daughter the best of luck. She looks proud and pretty.

My only suggestion would be on the sign. Blue on red does not stand out the best. It might be better to try a different combination of colors or maybe add another sign that would be turned so drivers could read it easier; Remember they are in a moving car so you need something that would cause them to look. In sales that is called an attention getter, the first step in making a sale.

Even outlining the letters with some white paint would help in making a sharp contrast and easier to read........but, the people who are looking to buy fire wood will spot the stand and know about it before they read the sign. There have been more and more of them popping up around here in the last decade now.

Great job Gavorosalini ! Helping the daughter, working together and even the fact that she has the desire to take it one! :handshake:

I have hauled salt out of there also & hauled sand in when they were resurfacing 14 south of Ellsworth a few years ago.

I hope your daughters firewood stand works out well.

Already did that. For 3 or 4 years. Had a large sized bundle selling for 2.50!

And yeah, people still took advantage of it and didn't pay for all. :picard:
