Thing sure are happening at your place now! Extra hard to do when the ground isn't flat. I think we had about 12 ft deep of fill brought in to extend the hill side out wide enough for our garage. Took several years to fill that spot. A great deal of it was from when they reconstructed the road and needed a place to dump what they dug up. Now lets hope you don't get heavy rain to wash out some of your work before they get the base in.
Having light rain today although at the moment we are in break. Hopefully we don't get to much as they are at a clay level. Did hear them mention something about a tri-axel of stone. Not sure what that is about. Chaz told me the Amish want to start bringing in there supplies in this week. So it continues.
Jerry did sneak up to work a little between rain. Just a couple pics. The last picture you can really see the top soil and clay layers.
Chazsbetterhalf , Jill, you will be in my thoughts and prayers for your fast recovery. I am, almost, at 40 years a survivor of the crap. Thanks for the pictures on the build, always nice to watch the progress.
Don't think we'll see much action today. Good chance for rain. Right now between storms but one coming in at 2 that will shut the day down. Ugh this is driving me nuts. Well just a few minutes ago we (Holly and I) heard the sound of a dump truck. So went and check. Jerry an son Thomas hard at work. Looks like the Amish have been here. They dropped some trusses off. The guy who drives, Mike, was talking to Jerry and the Amish are looking to start next week. Will look at getting pics later.
Sounds like you have chosen the perfect people to crew your barn build! Equipment operator making the most of each available minute, barn crew pushing to get on site, sounds like a win win situation!
Guys have been here since 9:15 working. One load of gravel brought in. There still taking dirt out of here. He says it will be ready for Amish to come in and start to do their thing.
Ok the guys got pad level for the barn. Now if you look at the pic below, there is a lot to still take care of. Once barn is finished then we will do the final grading outside of the barn area. Now we need to get the Amish moving.
Had some good news. Per my reg doc I might not have cancer but an infection. Appts being keep. Looking to get another ct scan around the beginning of the month. There was one scan that was done down here last November that the doc might not be aware of and that questionable nodule looked fine. So we will keep the appointments and see what happens down the road.
Your crew isn't messing around. I have to be sure to watch this thread everyday, miss a day or 2 and you'll miss the build. Prayers and thoughts for you Chazsbetterhalf. Don't ever forget, you guys are never alone.
