Moving 1-ton pallets of fertilizer for a neighbor. The new tractor has the cast wheels and larger tires hold more fluid, so no counterweight needed on the 3-pt.
Really put the grapple to work now. Finally got a chance to load the dump trailer with it. Sorting out some bigger pieces Got another big chunk.
Then I let the grapple eat. My neighbor had a corner he wanted cleaned out. Started Monday afternoon, picture after I quit for the day. Went back Wed and Thursday mornings, grapple was still hungry. Eating a clump of privet hedge. Trimmed up the big cedar tree, clearing the limbs Vines, briar, privet and sweet gum trees 1 of the cement/brick cornerstones from the old house that burned years ago. The trifecta, 2 gums and an oak, grown so close I couldn't separate them He has a big brush pile now Area cleared now. May have to get a bigger tractor or wrap a chain/drag that last cornerstone. And the stump fell back in the hole when I cut the tree off... We did save some to and 4 oaks and an elm. Got a grapple full This was the biggest gum, about 10-12" dia...
We went back to the corner lot to see if we could move the stump and concrete chunk. If ya can't lift it, drag it... Clearing the section we cut last fall. Pile roots, stumps and briar taters
That thing is awesome , I like that grapple bucket on there. Still waiting for delivery of my sub=compact. Talked to dealer middle of last week and he says it's built and waiting to ship. Was hoping he would see it this week , believe me he isn't hoping half as much as I am. I want to go play too !!
I recently found out that grapple works pretty well for demolition. Our daughter's house is built on my grandpa's old home place. This was their old wash house, it sat out back behind the old house. It had been used for storage over the years and had gotten in bad shape. Grabbed the roof and 1 side... Even got the cement floor dug up... Just need to do a little leveling.
I picked up a Kubota 3301 last month and ordered a grapple. It won’t be in until ext month. After seeing your post, I CANT WAIT!!!
Well its been a few weeks and the wheels haven't fallen off so I feel like I can discuss this. My B2601 has been a great machine but it feels very tipy, so since I'm never going to mount a Mid-Mount Mower and I want to put chains on some day I added 2" rear wheel spacers. Our barn concrete is heaved and cracked (don't ask, prior owner), so on a nice day my helper and I put the spacers on. They have made a huge difference in stability and make the tractor feel a lot safer. Since the property was very hilly I contemplated 2.5" or 3" spacers but I wanted to make sure my width stayed well under the 60" width my box blade/angled 72" scraper and bucket/grapple cover. Supervisor checking the job site before we get the first tire off: 4 Year old supervisor in her office when I do tractor work and well out of the way. Like many supervisors, a simple bucket of bolts and odds and ends will keep them busy for hours: Here is the project half way through, the right side has been done the left side has not: Completed Job:
Well it's not a Kubota but this finally arrived yesterday afternoon after quite a long wait. Very little time to play but hope to find some play time over the next week
