I have about 2 cords yet to split and stack, along with 1/2 cord already split that needs stacked. I got the main pile back to where I like it. Main pile is right about 18 cords and then I have a smaller pile that is 3 years old of 80% red and white oak that I'll be working on this winter (4 cords there). I was working on mostly beech but the photo of the splitter you can see some shagbark that I brought around to mix in. I cut that hickory 2 winters ago it was stacked between the pines so it has stayed real well. Oh and I found the notorious hickory borer, they get after any hickory I bring in but they don't eat much and they burn just fine.

Thanks Oslo, I don't usually work on firewood much in the summer but it's been really getting to me that I had stuff that needed split. The temp. today was 66º so it was perfect.

Thanks WS, I'm a solid 4 years + ahead, with some wiggle room so I can bless a few less fortunate souls.

Very nice looking stash! I used to be a couple years ahead, before kids and other hobbies came along. I still stay ahead enough to keep the gas man away lol.

You got yourself enough BTU'S to heat a small city. And as we all know the effort to get it, no small feat. Outstanding job!

That looks fantastic. Some of those stacks look pretty tall, do you have any issues with them falling over or how do you keep them from tipping?

I am the same way. Can't let rounds just sit there knowing they need to be split.
