On my way to a job in an area i never travel and passed what looked like some BL remnants. Stopped on the way back and ten minutes of work. Glad i had a saw with me. IMG_4674.JPG IMG_4673.JPG Metal hazard. Looks like an old cart buried in the mess. IMG_4675.JPG IMG_4677.JPG IMG_4676.JPG Anything else i wouldve left it.

My BL peripheral vision caught it. I was trying not to sniff when cutting. Have you ever smelled the stuff when the bark is coming loose? Putrid! Lots of maggots too!

I know a fellow split sniffer, and I’d much prefer sniffing cherry or white oak. Never tried the Sass. That said, I am try to get my Locust fix from the community pool parking lot. They had some beautiful locust logs lined up, but someone else had dibs which I have respected. Hoping the 20” bar will be enough even for a couple rounds off the old stump. Tons of silver maple to go around, but mostly pre-cut. 5989513A-7829-4B2F-BC30-DB1B0762EEBD.jpeg 45F55DD8-0A5E-44CE-863F-1EEA6668FA29.jpeg

Nice BL. I was thinking of that blowover trunk you cut from in the tangle. Did you ever get the rest of that? Grab it if you can...a little is better than none.
