Got a scrounge of 2 pickup beds. 14-18" split really easy if no knots. Smells sorta sweet and sorta like baby hurl after some nasty formula. Some type of oak? Thanks, Doug
Nice score! Oak for sure, medullary rays present. Let’s see what folks think as to red or white....
Red oak of some sort. Some love the smell, some dont. Pin oak (variety of red) smells like manure. White oak like whiskey. Some nice firewood there!
Ya know, I could call the baby puke smell manure.....reminds me of the German countrysides....honey wagons full of manure.
Reminds me of cleaning horse stalls as a teenager. I am of the "I like the smell" clan. My wife thinks it stinks in a bad way. Some trees are definitely more pungent than others.
Ive never had the "pleasure" to smell baby puke and its not on my bucket list. Two Ms. buZZsaw's daughters have babies and i tend to walk away when they spit up. I think it would be rather weird if one upchucks and i walk over to sniff it! Never had kids of my own.
I believe that is red oak and I believe it smells like corn silage when split Musta been a cow in a previous life
