A kind neighbor had a black locust come down in a storm. I came home from work and found that he used his backhoe and dropped them off in my yard. I think I owe him a case of beer!
You won me over on BL. It is now my favorite wood. I hand split and it is easy to split, bark comes off easily and seasons quicker than oak. In my opinion only Osage keeps my house warmer
UH OH! I think you've come down with locust mania. It was isolated to mostly Connecticut. We've done our best to keep it from spreading but rumor has that it can be transmitted electronically! I like it for all the reasons you stated. Ive never scrounged or seen osage here in Connecticut. My bucket list wood.
