This is not all of it but a goodly amount of it. Bear in mind no cutting has been done since our 2019 GTG. I started today by putting some small and some uglies in a tote. Then put some old wood in another tote for the fire pit during our coming GTG. This tote has mostly short pieces and a few uglies. An oak stack in the background. This will get us a few hours of campfire. The stack in the background is 2 parts. The wood that is stacked is 3 year old oak and the stuff just thrown is junk for the fire pit. On the left in the background is 2 cord of ash and the other further back is more ash and some pine and spruce. Here is a small pile that needs shortening. The wood on top and at the end is more that has to be shortened. Mostly ash. Here is some still needs stacking. An ugly stacking job. All together we have more wood on hand than I thought. Between 15 and 20 cord; closer to 20 than 15, and probably 18 or 19. Some of the stacks aren't too good. Seems when I'm hurting a lot I get sloppy. lol
Ought be a good start for one nights worth of bonfire... ... All looks good to me... Times closing in for the GTG...
Glad to see you've still got a good supply. I'm getting pretty excited for GTG time! It's coming fast.
Lol. It's been dry here on the other side of lake michigan. But this coming week it's supposed to rain a lot.
All this GTG talk has me jealous of those that can attend. It’s on my bucket list, I just don’t have enough time off. I hope everyone has a good time.
I got to spend a couple afternoon/evening hours at a Springfield, OR GTG that was put on by an AS member in June of 2019. I wasn’t able to get there until after all the activities wound up for the day, but I met a lot of members that I had chatted with online. I really Enjoyed meeting them, I wish that I could have stayed longer, but it was just a short detour half way home, on a 6 hour drive after working 2 weeks away from home in Medford, OR Just by Dumb Luck, the Wife and I had cut about 2 cords of mostly Douglas Fir, from an area south of there, and I had the trailer load of wood with me, rather fitting. The previous winter had been ROUGH on the trees in that area, so I had taken a couple saws and the trailer with me that trip, I knew that I would have a weekend off in the middle, and I had been driving through that area quite a bit, and Drooling over all the logs piled on the highway shoulders. It was MUCH further than I would normally go for firewood, but my travel time and mileage was being paid to Medford and back, so I did get one load of that wood I had been drooling over Anyone that hasn’t been to a GTG should go if they have a chance, I’m Hoping that if the annual Springfield GTG happens this year, my schedule will work out better. Because of the China Virus, last year’s GTG was Canceled Doug
