My 4 female golden layer ducklings arrived well, but the Male was DOA. He's an important aspect of this so I'll need to get another.

Important because you want to breed and hatch?

We ended up having 6 eggs hatch, the last three hatched on day 24, Im guessing those eggs were laid and held for a few days before incubation and they just took a couple extra days to develop.

I went through myer hatchery in Ohio, and knew the ducks would ship from elsewhere but never thought California.

They guarantee them for 48 hrs, so next hatch is May 3rd. I've got another Male and 2 females coming then. Otherwise, these 4 are doing great! They love the water feeder already!

I always want to keep that as an option, I'm just not there yet. When i do, you'll get a couple pm's lol!

You having 6 hatch is a great start! I'm eager to see more pictures!

Here's one from after work today. They have some spring in their step!

I decided to pick up a few peking duckings and cancel my order for early next month. It's easier doing this now rather than later.

    Here's the group

I know I said I wasn't ready for chicks but picked up these two hitch hikers on the way home from a family trip to Hershey Park last weekend. Kept doing a search for the speckled sussex and decided to broaden my search range and got a hit of someone selling chicks on the way home from Hershey so here they are, 3 weeks today! They've been pretty darn funny and entertaining.....

You're going to need a bigger pond.
